Come one, come all: The Emerson-Harper Jr. High Orchestras Winter Concert is right around the corner! The concert will be held at Brunelle Hall on the DHS Campus on Monday, December 5th, and will start at 7 PM. The Intermediate and Advanced Orchestras will perform music by Mozart, Vivaldi, Glinka and many others. The concert is free and open to the public. All students, families, and friends are invited to join us for this great celebration of the musical growth and achievements of the Jr. High musicians! Street Smarts poster contest finalists and winners will be honored at a special award ceremony at the Davis Art Center on December 9th. The event will feature our own Davis mayor Joe Krovoza, and will kick off an art show including the work of more than 100 students who entered the elementary school traffic safety poster contest this year. All attendees who entered artwork (and are present at the ceremony) will receive a prize, and winning artists will be awarded gift certificates to Alphabet Moon, karate lessons, a brand new Wii system, and more!! If you can’t make it to the ceremony, be sure to drop by the Davis Art Center–during their normal hours–before December 19th to see the show and learn more about traffic safety. Register Now for Lady Blue Devil Basketball Camp – The Lady Blue Devils (undefeated 2010/2011 Delta Valley Conference Champions) are hosting a skill development camp for the up and coming basketball players in Davis. The camp will be held Saturday and Sunday, October 29th & 30th at Davis High School. Up to 100 fourth through eighth grade girls will participate in a program focused on key basketball skill development while incorporating the importance of teamwork, leadership, and communication as keys for success both on and off the court.
