Silent Auction
The Korematsu Silent Auction is typically combined with the school’s Asian-Pacific festival. It is our school’s most exciting event and also our biggest fund-raising event. When we combine good games, good food, good entertainment, and good auction-items we always end up with good times!
The auction for the 2010/2011 school year will be held on May 20th, 2011. Further information will be posted here as the date draws nearer. In the mean time, please feel free to look at last years auction information to get a feel for what the event consists of:

Dear Korematsu Family,
On May 21st, the Korematsu Parent Teacher Organization will come together to celebrate and host its 2nd annual Silent Auction. Please see our Korematsu 2010 Silent Auction Program Guide for details on the upcoming event!
Last year’s Silent Auction was very successful, due to the efforts of our parents, teachers and businesses in our community. As a result, this year we have been able to provide Korematsu students with reading assemblies, classroom grants and scholarships for fieldtrips. Additionally, the science lab received new binoculars for use in the science curriculum while the primary grades have received support for the “Take Home Book” program. Explorit Science has already visited each classroom and provided a fun filled family night.
The budget crisis in DJUSD is grim and school budgets are taking a very deep cut next year. Korematsu is struggling to determine how it will be able to cover the costs of basic necessities. These cuts will become devastatingly apparent next year in our school environment. More than ever, this is a time when we need the community to come together to supply basic necessities, supplement core curriculum and provide enriching activities that benefit all students.
We are thankful that the Korematsu community has been so generous in the past and hope that we can count on your continued support of the Korematsu school community.
I look forward to hearing from you and welcome any questions you may have. Please feel free to contact me via email at danicareeves
Sincerely,
Monica Reeves
