Tour de Cluck — Student Volunteers Sought

The Tour de Cluck: A Bicycle Chicken Coop Crawl!” is looking for you!  We have tickets available for this fun, family, fundraising event to benefit the Davis Farm to School Connection.  We also have volunteer opportunities available for students looking for a unique way to acquire valuable end-of-the-year service hours!

The Tour de Cluck will take place on May 22nd starting with a Fowl Food Fair (8:00) at the Farmers Market, Kick-off Celebration (9:00) at the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame and an Art Exhibit & Silent Auction (9:00-2:00) in a tent on the  Central Park  green.  Guests are welcome to visit the many fine backyard chicken coops presented by the Tour de Cluck from 10:00 until 3:00 at their leisure and in any order.  Bicycle transportation is not required, but strongly encouraged.

Tickets are available online at www.davisfarmtoschool.org (Events) and locally at The Avid Reader, The Davis Food Co-op and Hibbert Lumber.  For further information: Jacqueline “Jake” Clemens, 530-758-5005 or tourdecluck@gmail.com

Farm to School wants students! Farm to School is looking for student volunteers to join our Tour De Cluck event.  Students would be assigned to a certain house in the neighborhood with a chicken coop and would then send participants in the right direction. Volunteer tasks may include: greeting visitors at coop homes and punching their Map Guide tickets, keeping a visitor tally on a clipboard and pointing visitors to the shoe sanitation stations or helping manage visitors in backyard coop areas. This is a fun event for the whole family and the whole community.  Come on out and have some chicken fun and get community service hours too! Contact  Jacqueline “Jake” Clemens, 530-758-5005 or tourdecluck@gmail.com to volunteer.
