The 2009-10 Street Smarts Poster Contest is underway. Davis students in grades K-6 are invited to create original Street Smarts messages and artwork focusing on the topics of Proper Helmet Use, Safe Bicycle Riding and Crossing the Street Safely. There are some great prizes for the finalists (like a Nintendo DSi and an Apple iPod Shuffle) and the winning poster will be used in Street Smarts materials like newspaper ads and other displays. This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about traffic safety as well as to creatively express themselves. For details on the contest, visit: The Steet Smarts Web Page or contact:

Sign up now or use your already enrolled escrip or Nugget scrip card during
the month of October and be entered in to a raffle to win a $100 Nugget gift
card.  Go to http://www.escrip.com/ to sign up for escrip.  For Nugget scrip, you
can pick up a card from the customer service desk at Nugget and there are a
few in the school parent office.
